THE BRAND
Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon (SCKLM) is an annual marathon event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Notable for being one of Malaysia’s greatest running event in Malaysia and attracts large number of local and international participants. The race gives a unique opportunity to discover the city centre of KL and meet its inhabitants cheering along the route. Through partnership with Dirigo Events, Purpose/Built Social Media Team was tasked to manage SCKL Social Media accounts that includes Facebook and Instagram posting inclusive of creating the supportive visual and copy. Our service covered service from design, content creation, customer support, live coverage, and photography (on drone and over 20 photographer to cover the whole event)
THE INSIGHT
Purpose Built devised a social media strategy where we produced content strategies and content creation to manage their social media accounts. The main goal was to grow the audience by raising awareness about the marathon and break through the noise of the competition scene in Malaysia. Consequently, the team ensured n active presence on social media pre-marathon, during-marathon and post-marathon coverage whilst engaging the digital audience with the utmost high level of customer service for runners and attendees.
THE SOLUTION
Postings up from 5 post per week and alternatively up to 7 per week include greetings, videos, announcements, visuals, updates on real-time events, educational posts, giveaways and etc in order to maintain the communication relationship with audience. We strategize a consistent communication design for SCKLM with a customised branding template including brand logo positioning, key contact messages aligned throughout. Multiple customisable template were created for different content developed for the event. Vital to the project management, we had to ensure a 100% responsive rate within 24hrs to all social media requests. Throughout the marathon event day, Purpose/Built also covered the social media postings on the day of the marathon with live updates.
